Dr. Dean Arkfeld attended Creighton University for his undergraduate degree, University of Nebraska Medical Center for medical school and Yale University School of Medicine for his residency in ophthalmology. He completed his fellowship at Harvard’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary to become a retina sub-specialist.
Dr. Arkfeld is a fellow in both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, Nebraska Medical Association and Nebraska Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. Dedicated to community service, he is a past President of the Radio Talking Book Network of Omaha and The Rose Theater Board of Directors; he has served on the board for Nebraska Foundation for Visually Impaired Children Board of Directors, and Countryside Community Church Board of Youth and Church Council.
Dr. Arkfeld spends as much time as he can with his wife Peggy and three children Tanin, Chaele and Ke – enjoying outdoor activities, including winter sports, gardening and tennis. He is as passionate about the arts as he is about eye care.
